No sooner had all the missing kids been found, on their foggy mountain on the Brecon Beacons, than this other outdoors story was getting bigger and bigger in the national and international press.

Like a kind of conspiracy theory tale almost. The clothes are wrong. Not enough time to summit? Supplemental oxygen? Weirder and weirder, curiouser and curiouser said Alice, lol.

Sadly this story seems to have gone quiet! Definitely a case of someone else's triumphant summit photos being hijacked and photo shopped it appears. I just really do not know how people, especially two serving Indian police officers, thought they were ever going to get away with this! Maybe they should not have called that press conference, claiming to be the first married couple to summit mount Everest together!

Yeah, the police authority in Nepal is now investigating this all, including talking with the porters that signed the certificates of successful summiting too.

Yesterday, Nepal declared a 10-year climbing ban for the now-infamous Indian couple who allegedly doctored photos to appear that they’d summited Everest. [BBC]

Aha, so the story continues with more thoughts on ingenious ways to prevent false summiting claims from Everest trekkers.
