    Hi,
I am hoping someone has used either of these products. I notice that Fugawi has a version 2 out very similar to Memory Map but almost half the price.Has anyone used the products and would anyone go for the Fugawi. Mainly for Munro's and corbetts.

I've tried them both and I wasn't very impressed by either but I thought Memory Map the better of the two.

My opinion doesn't count for much, though, since I really don't like working out a route on the computer for some reason. Strange, because I'm an IT person both at work and play ? just not with maps.

However, there's a guy in my office who has used both programs quite a lot. I asked him and he said Memory Map was miles better.

    HTH.

Tracklogs. But they only do OS maps. If you want to use Harvey's look elsewhere.

Tracklogs.. Not Anquet (apart from the Harvey's) because of the crappy registration, I want to run mapping software on a desktop PC and a laptop thank you very much.

You can download demos from both the Memory Map and Anquet sites - that will enable you to compare these two.

Would be interested in your thoughts as I am considering buying some mapping software since my collection of maps is v. limited.

Spent today looking into Anquet and Tracklogs. I spoke to a mate of mine in Mountain Rescue who thought that Fugawi's software / support was not as good as the rest, hence the price difference. Memory Map although better could not justify the extra expense compared to Tracklogs and Anquet. He basically said that Both Anquet and Tracklogs for the price, software and support were the best options. Has anyone used Anquet or Tracklogs? Also anyone used them with a Garmin Etrek gps?

Use Anquet and I like it. It's supposed to be a dedicated Garmin handshaker or something

Like Jeannie I use Anquet and it's quite good, but (AND LISTEN ANQUET) I will never buy another product from them because of the CRAPPY registration.

I have Anquet and use it with Garmin Geko 201. I'm very impressed. It's intuitive, and easy to use.

p.s. I've not had a problem with Anquet registration. Hedgehope - what problem did you have?

I use Tracklogs and an Etrex Legend C. They work together seamlessly. I have Tracklogs on both my laptop and desktopPC's, there was no problem about the software being on both my machines (I rang Tracklogs up and asked them that specific question).

Both the GPS and the software were bought from Tracklogs - then if they didn't work together the GPS supplier could blame the software etc. And if you buy a GPS from Tracklogs they will include a site centred map.

Oh, and Tracklogs provide a great service.

I am a fan, you can tell.

    Tracklogs, the dog's proverbials.

I've used MemoryMap a lot too, but doesn't come close (despite the Media wetting themselves over it). It's printing options are severely limited compared to Tracklogs.

Never used Anquet or Fugazi (isn't that an old marillion album??).

Still, i think you'd generally get what you want from any of these packages, it's just that they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

First you have to enter the licence code, then get a q-code, which you have to enter on the anquet registration web page, which gives you an a-code, which you enter into the map product which unlocks the programme! But only works on one computer.

Yes, I updated my version and then hit all those problems with the new version. I didn't get it all sorted before some deadline or other and they froze all my software - I have several discs....

What I did was to email them and sort it all out - I then uninstalled (with their instructions as how to do it properly to remove the 'secret' file.....) and re-installed with the older version again - result - runs perfectly but I can't do the fly-through - small price to pay I felt.

    ANQUET - it's a bloody terrible system!!!

p.s. the mapping system is great - it's the registration system I meant.
