I just want to get some idea of who would be interested in a weekend where the emphasis is on white water rafting. If you think you'd be up for it just let me know and I'll set down dates, prices etc in a few weeks. We'd probably stay in a bunkhouse or campsite.

You won't have to be superbly fit but you must be able to swim confidently and be fairly comfortable in COLD water :-)

Definitely Hayley, especially if we use the National Whitewater Centre at Tryweryn. The rafting there is great as they release the water from the upstream reservoir at regular intervals. There's a reasonable campsite at Ty'n-Y-Cornet, which coincidentally is where the rafting ends. As you can probably guess I've been there before

Hayley If you're planning the rafting near Bala, it is a decent run and there's a good campsite within walking distance at Frongoch. They even set out a seperate field for groups. (took a bunch of DoE kids there). Put me down for it

make sure that you check that there is a water release on the day. you can usualy get a water report around a week beforehand. it's the enviroment agency that decide on the release and not the rafting centre

there are around 3 companies rafting on the tryweryn "Influence rafting" used to but im not sure if they do anymore. try and find a company outside the centre as they will usualy be cheaper.

Thanks Cemlyn - I'm going to try and organise a package that will give us the chance to go out on the rafts and orcas over two days.
