I seemed to have lost my Ogre waterproof jacket which i had for 2 years and loved it ,great hood ,light ,comfortable ,great pockets etc etc.

So I need to get another jacket they don't make the Ogre anymore does anyone have suggestions of a equivalent jacket does not have to be ME but preferred as they have never let me down.

    Thanks

I've been quite impressed with the Lhotse that was sent to me as a warranty replacement.

The Rab Myriad appeals but I've not tried one / handled one.

You could have a look at the Montane Direct Ascent that is similar with a long cut though only two external pockets.

It uses event which is as breathable as Pro shell and can be found around £170.

What's the cut like when you have lots of layers on as it looks like a alpine style jacket?

I've had various odds and sods from Montane pretty much since they started off and I've never been struck by short-cuts on how they put stuff together. My current shell is a Montane, but it's not had enough wear to really say about durability. Seems well put together and thought out though, I'd certainly be happy to shortlist their stuff again.

I haven't owned a Montane waterproof, just other types of garments from the brand, but they seem to have a decent reputation.

Be aware that the Direct Ascent list price is £250 and the price I quoted was for last years discounted model available in different sizes across the web.

As far as I can tell last year's model is identical to this year's model but retailers regard the 2014 jackets as old stock.

All the following have stock in various sizes and prices vary from £166 to £190.

I've bought stuff off all of them (some several times) except for Beoutdoors and the ebay seller.

sportsshoes.com also available in redsportsshoes red

    gooutdoors

    nevisport

    beoutdoors

    summits

    ebay

Also Rat Race who are good have a size small only at £175

I got a Mountain Equipment Condor recently and I'm impressed, especially given the sale price I got it at. Still on sale here.

Its Drilite not Goretex, but its the heavier weight version. I think Drilite is a rebadged event material.

Ive got a Montane Alpine Endurance for sale (Red, Medium) at £160 (posted) if anyones interested. As new - only worn on one trip.

I've just bought the Mountain Equipment Arclight, it's discontinued now but you can still pick it up in the sales for a good price. It's made from neoshell and I find it more versatile and breathable than the competition thought for really gnarly weather you still can't beat the new Gore Pro jackets, but for the majority of UK conditions bar backpacking it's an excellent choice.

I like the fit of the rab bergen as it is a bit looser than many other jackets. Which of the jackets mentioned above has that more relaxed fit?
