For those oldies who are very much out of touch, bobble hats and knitted hats are very fashionable at the momentand those who teach teenager should know this
![]()
Not like those hat/balaclava jobs!
I bought one of those Norwegian Dale hats with the 2 tassles on top at the weekend. The Mrs nearly had a Tener Lady moment laughing when I got home.I like it.
I like them too, the tassles would irritate me mind.
@ Taz: May be Wiltshire is a little behind the times (re: your other post that mentioned Kidderminster's offspring).
I don't teach teenagers, it's them wot learns (re: my recent reference to lesson observation feedback and grading).
Note to self: Must try harder.
@ Spiritburner: "I bought one of those... ". It's your money!
Gawd, I know I volunteered to be the one who provided the general nonsense, but I'm so knackered I can't comprehend my own Rowlocks.
Don't even think it!
Pedantic![]()
Sorry just had to read your post 3 times before I made sense of it...![]()
Anyway, itchy balaclavas, I remember the lads wearing them when I was a kid, I was glad I didn't have to wear them. I had to wear itchy woolly tights mind...and woolly mitts on a string.
Thought I'd watch Rhod Gilbert on beeb2 - so blinking knackered it took me several tries to work the remote!
I also posted something like: 'So you've already met me bros, Taz' (with reference to that nice photo). But I'm too knacked to find the post.
Honest. I'm knacked.
It's all a bit worrying, to me!
Potentially, there's nothing to stop students (and colleagues) reading about Rowlocks - I'll have to bear that in mind when I'm writing the next assignment.
Only a few nutters read this![]()
Watching QI, eating crisps (which I shouldn't but I resisted unattended chocolate earlier) and just catching up on this online. Yes I'm online again, a flaming miracle. Anyway, not a bad evening.
Can I ask a stupid question, what is a rowlock apart from a nautical thing?![]()
I thought it was only a Nautical thing, you mean there may be a rude meaning.
Parental Controls Pete.
Or whatever it's called on this site!
Not for all public viewing...........![]()

HAAL For Taz......he he.
What's a rowlock? My understanding is that it's the (usually metal) bracket that holds the (jesus, I can't even think of the word) oars onto the side of a rowing boat. Hence, 'row' - 'locks'.
And it rhymes with poodles privates (kind of).
@ AR: Not that I know of. But don't ask husky, or we'll be here all night!![]()
Back to pith helmets.Rember the TV. series " Taint Alf Hot Mum." quite fashonable in that programme. Cheers.![]()
Why am I not surprised!
Huskey stop confusing me!
@ waldo: Yeah, the image I had in mind was 'jolly good show, ol' boy', kinda thing.
I couldn't resist the choccy completely TazBut did only eat half a pack of Border's Dark Gingers but hey still a few hours left so chance to redeem myself and eat the lot
