Just doing some reading (and listening) - 400 pics stitched together, I'm guessing with this hard/software:http://www.gigapan.com/

That really is an amazing picture.

It is amazing yes. Really showing what photography/computers can actually do.

I seem to remember reading some article somewhere that things like this were making geography/geology teachers very happy

krpano.com - I can't see me investing in hundreds of pounds worth of gear and carrying kilos of it, but they also enable standard panoramic shots to be viewed in the same way. It does open up interesting possibilities.

This is surely what photography is about - capturing a scene that keeps rewarding every time you revisit - staggering tech.

Super photo. I can see the climbers in the icefall but not on Lhotse. Anyone help on that one?

Craig,I think you'll have to borrow that big monitor from ed's workplace to see climbers on Lhotse.

But those on the Icefall certainly help put things into perspective, don't they?

Not me. If you could zoom in a bit more you'd be able to see the piles of stinking turds and litter, not really my cup of tea. Still a great pic, though.
