    Hi

I did a circular Malham and Gordale on saturday, I`m curious about the ravine that continues above the Scar and cant seen to fine detail of it on my map, I`m be curious about walking it, how far does it actually go and is there any sort of pathway at the bottom of it to allow walking?

yes you can climb the waterfall and continue alobg the river up to Malham tarn, its a safe walk no danger other than climbing the waterfall..
its a great walk all way around as a circular.

Thank you very much , but no I dont mean the normal route to the Tarn, once I get above the 2nd chamber from Gordale I want to climb down the ravine and follow that from the bottom along Gordale Beck, it goes nowhere near the tarn, but seems to continue some way to the north east, possibly half mile or so??

Do you mean following the beck further upstream? It is a steady little stream-hop, with some very mild scrambly bits, but not really exciting - it soon tapers off, and you leave the beck and re-join the path back up the hill towards the tarn. It's worth doing to satisfy curiosity, nothing more imo.

If you're going up, though, it's worth getting up close to the "eye" of the upper fall at Gordale, being careful obviously, and admire the view.

This is further up the valley, following the beck:

This is the mouth of the upper fall:

No worries! It's lovely to look at, but not particularly interesting to walk along - a few stream-hops, boulders to clamber over, that's about it. Worth a wander though.
