You can use 'streetview' on google to find the hostel, looks awesome halfway up the 'old man'. No pub near though.

Make your own pub!! Grab a few barrels from one of the local breweries and I'm led to believe it works out at around ?? a pint! Otherwise yes the nearest is the black bull down in the village, maybe 30 min downhill, it's the home run that the worst!

Skip, as for directions it really is as simple as turn up between the coop and black bull pub and follow the road which turns into a track all way to the hostel

Unfortunately, some of us have work commitments...

... although the 560 mile round-trip would be more economical if a longer stay were possible.

Is certainly a long way to come for the weekend so I do try and stay a little longer if at all possible and having a Tuesday off does help (last month, will be all change in April)

Would be rude not to pop in to the ODG while we are there speed

Hopefully TV might need a bit of lubrication on the old joints after a week in the lakes

Yeah (or no), but it'll be getting sorted next Tuesday so that we can travel without worrying
(I worry a lot about stuff - a lot of stuff)
Refurb alternator's been bought/delivered and I'm just going to fit (yet) another resistor to the heater/blower unit - too much dosh for the whole shebang.

I meant I need lubrication of the joints but hey TV is more than welcome to tag along and take the P if I fall over

As soon as I have booked tickets I will know what time I get into Windermere so can finalize routes for the week.

    Hello Gang

I might be able to make the meet? although im currently injured. It all depends if i survive this weekend in The Yorkshire Dales.

On Saturday I will be doing the "Flat Cap mind me pigeons 3 Peaks and 7 Pubs Challenge!"

Yes 7 Pubs on the way around, although we are getting the train back from Ribbleshead at the end! With an injury i will need the motivation of a lovely pint to spurr me on!

The injury is not to your drinking arm I take it

And hello Nick, be nice to meet again (I won't be drinking any wiskey offered or scrounged).

Is the challenge being able to say that after 3 pints in each of the 7 pubs

Hope you can make the meet and don't worry about being slow by time I get there I will probably need carrying up the OMC or should that be as long as I get back down </blockquote>

Anyone planning to do anything as late as 10am from the hostel on the Saturday? That's the earliest I could get there. At the moment I'm a couple of thousand miles away from the hostel, but I'm hoping to close most of that distance today.
