I was thinking Penny's on the left as she's got some pretty florals on - so pretty Penny - and Helen's on the right as she's in jeans which look great - so heavenly Helen.

Helen is in the blue and Penny is in the Purple. A Google image search reveals that Helen is taller than Penny. (See the PTC* blog page article on TNF kit!)

I'm going to say penny is on the left because she's a little shorter, and a penny is pretty small yeah? Plus a lot of helens are taller so I'm going to say helen is one the right. Also P for Penny, P for Purple in the jackets. Verto jacket looks awesome, verto pack looks ace too!

I was going to say the lady with the longer name must be the one in the light blue because she's taller.... but that doesn't work

    Hmmm....
So the flipping a Penny to decide, heads Penny is light blue, tails she's dark blue....

Heads it is. So Penny is in light blue and Helen in Dark blue.

Everybody knows that it was Helen who launched a thousand ships. The lighter blue is a far more nautical colour than the purple: ergo, Helen is the one on the right in the light blue jacket. Purple is not a colour to launch ships in.
There. I think that deserves a prize whether I'm right or not.

    It's easy.

Penelope was the wife of Odysseus, a woman who remained loyal to her husband despite him buggering off to Troy for 10 years, then spending 10 years getting home afterwards. She was also clever and managed to fob off unwelcome suitors by unpicking her weaving every night, having promised to marry one of the blokes after she'd finished the piece of cloth, which she obviously was never going to do.

Helen was regarded as the most beautiful woman in the world, she was the wife of Menelaus and ran off with Paris (Trojan bloke, not Hilton) to Troy, thus triggering the ten year siege of Troy (see above).

So, Penelope was a dutiful wife and Helen was a tart.

    Oh.....

the Penny black stamp is famous, Penny blue is less well known and there was no Penny purple.

Therfore I guess totally randomly that Penny is in blue & Helen is in purple.

Can't wait for the summer modelling session ladies x

Technically this comp is now closed, just waiting for Penny and Helen or maybe Helen and Penny to make a decision. Sorry about the delay.

    Helen left, Penny right.

How do I know? They are both talking to me through the radio. After identifying themselves they told me I am a Thetan who landed at Roswell. You can keep the jacket, I have more need of a spaceship to get home. Jesus and Lady Diana are coming with me.

OK, after much deliberation, Helen and Penny have chosen the winner of the Verto jacket and it is [drum roll, fireworks, expectant hush...] Pete_rbg for a combination of perseverance, Photoshop head-swapping skills and 'the fact that he needs to get out more instead of playing with photoshop, so he will need the Verto to help him on his way!'

Thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to Pete

Many thanks to Helen and Penny for their decision, and to all involved at North Face for their generosity. Also to Jon for passing on the good news (for me, anyway).

I hope everyone has enjoyed a bit of fun on this competition thread. My commiserations to those of you who had been hoping for an alternative result!

And yes, I do need to get out more!!!
