Hi all. Just thought I'd drop by to recommend Chris Townsend's new "Scotland" book, part of Cicerone's mountain range.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotland-Cic.../dp/1852844426

It is fantastic, currently working my way through it for planning three weeks up there over easter (avoiding the Royal wedding as well!) and can honestly say it's the best generalist hill walking / mountain guide to an area I've ever read.

Well done Chris as well as it must have been an epic to write and compile.

I bought this myself, is a fantastic book indeed. Covering all of the mountain areas of Scotland (including the Islands), this is the comprehensive guidebook to walking in Scotland. It even includes info on ski-touring and climbing. Well worth the money.

Have a great time in April
