Hi the other day I was on this forum and found a link to a fantastic website that allowed you to plot routes on os maps with a split screen view then export them as gpx files etc. I book marked the site but have had pc issues and had to restore to a month old backup so I have lost the link and now can't refind it. Does anyone know which site I was using?

    Thanks,

    Martin

    also worth trying is walkhighlands.co.uk

OS maps/Gps Route planner and a large selection of route guides, with downloadable gps routes!

OM admins that may be reading this, if you could get this OS/Gps device it would complete this site!

just looked at wheres the path. looks awesome! only problem is there seems to be a limit to how many people can view modern OS maps a day, It told me 40,000 tiles have already been viewed and they can only show uncopyrighted 1940s maps!

WtP is written by a colleague of mine. The OS tile server limit is a pain... At one point, they put up the allocation, but seem to have knocked it down again.

The tile limit is reset on a daily basis, so get in early...

With the increasing awareness of WtP (I've been plugging it for ages...), it's inevitable that the tile limit will be hit earlier and earlier.

If this is a problem, write to the OS and ask them to lift the restriction. Or write to your MP and ask them to raise the issue; there's quite a strong movement to make government data public (even if the OS is a semi-commercial Agency).
