    Alternatively, buy a water-proof Garmin!

Don't really see the point in these - I've had my Active 10 for over 2 years and it's never let water in, despite being on the hills on some extremely wet days. I suppose they could be useful if you intend to take it swimming....

I thought the Active 10 was sold as waterproof. Mine was and has never let water in yet.

    ipx7 isn't waterproof. it's r2d2's favourite drink.

probably the same as my garmins. which haven't let water in either.

but to be honest, i've never had them out all day in truly awful weather. they're sheltered by my head - when it it isn't eclipsing the sun - and covered and ...
no trouble looking at them in the pouring rain.

Well i think this i a good idea! Im maybe a bit of a rough user. Ive broken one unit in a fall, and two units in wet onditions in Norwegian mountains. So my last one i keep in my Ortlieb waterproof map case.
I try to take good care of my last unit, i like it a lot, the new software upgrades have made a ok unit great. So i will try this for sure
