    'Cartoonify yourself'

Does anyone else find these doll-like characters rather creepy? I wonder what sort of hideous gargoyle would appear if I put my photo in...

Then there are the swords and sourcery-type RPG adverts.

Do you think google's advert targetting needs a bit of tweaking, or will it eventually settle down? I thought it sniffed the site content to do content-targetted adverts. I've not seen much discussion of cartoon avatars or role-playing games in the five years I've been using OM...

I'm sure it's not just me...

Look out for adverts for IMVU.com (for cartoons), or just wait for the banner and big ad box to roll around to one of the googleads.

If you have Flash disabled, some might not be visible.

Do you think google are giving you adverts relating to your screen name as all I'm getting are camping and walking adverts.

I'm using Opera because the new OM is 'orrible on Firefox, and am struggling to block the latest ebay offerings.

It appears that your username in the top right hand corner is quite prominent to Google's sniffers, I turned adblock off for a while and got some quite interesting non-outdoors related ads.

i missed the opportunity to click to find out more on littlewoods free returns and the safety reflective clothing attracted my interest.

haven't ebay pandered to the powers that be and bannedkalashnikovs from being sold now. or was that knives...i see anti-personnel mines are still available. anti-HR mines sadly are not.

i must have some form of ad-block somewhere because i'm getting none of these interesting ads.

unless, of course, it's FAR more sophisticated than we think - since i have adverts for thomson sun holidays and british airways, perhaps they've been reading the scotlandshireness posts...

I've heard that google follow what sites your computer has visited and shows you adverts which match.

As I'm obsessed with outdoor stuff thats all I seem to get adverts for.Maybe I should start surfing some wierd stuff like anti-HR mines
