Looks like there's a new Harvey 1:40,000 Map of Knoydart, Kintail & Glen Affric (scroll to bottom of page) on the way.

    Excellent news!

Really good news. Seems odd that it is available from MCofS now but not yet on BMC website?

Ben - it's not even on the Harvey website yet! Think it's available from April, MCoS are taking advance orders I think - see here.

Why is this odd? The BMC exists to support climbers and walkers in England and Wales only. You can get a list of English and Welsh huts from the BMC website but not Scottish huts. You can get BMC discounts in selected English and Welsh climbing shops but not Scottish ones. etc etc, so why shoud the BMC resort to selling maps of Scotland.

Perhaps because it's published by Harveys in conjuction with the BMC?

I won't profess to be an expert but, in addition to the point made by MK above, I always assumed that the B in BMC covered Scotland too? And that the BMCdid its good work in all 3 countries? (4 in UK of course - I don't want to upset anyone).

The BMC / Harveys Cairngorms map is great, asare the ones for Snowdonia and Lakes. This is added to the 'wish list'. I hope it is out before my next trip.
