Yes we're really pleased that the guys managed to get their ironing board to Everest - certainly a first for extreme ironing. But is it really extreme? What do people think?

Well I guess we'll find how when the judges pour over the entries next Thursday.

However, you've got a weekend to show your mettle ironists! Points are awarded for style, photography, extremity, and if they make us laugh.

I'm not wanting to influence the judges, but no, it didn't strike me as terribly extreme, just very high.

Where were the ropes? The oxygen masks? The perilous perching on a precipice?

And I'm not sure about style either, did you see the terrible job they made of that flag? :-)

What you mean they don't even have to do collars and things like that?

Hope they used starch - and none of the namby-pamby spray-on modern nonsense ;0)

I can remember back when I was in the military, there was a craze about doing weird household tasks in strange place, and I have a picture (somewhere) of us doing some ironing in a pine forest in Norway. I'm afraid the iron wasn't plugged in though, so we didn't shift those pesky creases

If the blokes on Jackass can invent Urban Kayaking and Urban Snowboarding, how about Urban Extreme Ironing?

    Oh, go soak your head.

Its harmless (unless you're one of the cast) fun, that makes people laugh.

Whats more, it MAY lead to an improvement of the qulity of the gene-pool, if some idiot copies the stunts and dies.

I quite like the one where a guy wears a box and then invites people to lam hard things into his private parts.

    Bonkers.

I know it's a bit morbid, but I found the one where they had a hearse and coffin, and were struggling outside the restaurant pretty funny. That Dutch BMX thing was quite bizarre, my other half is Dutch, but she was pretty perplexed by the whole thing..

Did you see the one where they took a littl old lady into some Taxidermists and asked tem to give a quote on how much it would cot to stuff her when she died?

Most of them smiled politely and got them out of the shop asap, but one place said they'd look into the legal side and if it was ok would charge a few thousand dollars!

    Only in America!
