Does anyone know of any good offers on laminated OS maps? I need to get 3 new ones.

    Is aqua3.com the best bet?

I have used a few different ones and found aqua3 to be the best. Others have been a lot bulkier and also shiney whereas the aqua3 ones have a nice matt finish.

    Easy to write on?

Is it cheapest to get them direct?

Had no problems writing on mine with a pencil.

I have always bought mine from outdoors shops so not sure how online compares.

You can get them direct from aqua3 and if you are after a national park area's at 1:25000 they are doing three maps for 29.95 with free deliver.

If you first go to www.go4awalk.com, on the home page is a link for 10% off all OS maps (left side) using this link, it takes you to the Aqua3 site, all OS maps, paper or laminated are then 10% off - includes compasses etc etc.

Going direct to Aqua3 doesn't give you this discount.

Or even click on the link on my site (clue above!) and get 10% off too (shameless plug), i think my hosting bill is about to come through this month!

If you want to support the Ramblers, i'd buy it through them and then they get some cash (selfless plug).

It's a commission scheme for website owners and i'm surprised that OM don't have a link to them too.

FWIW, i've just got one of their site centred maps for the Moelwynion (which falls on the corner of 4 maps) and it is superb. No need for mapcases either.

I could never support the ramblers!

But I will link through a site and get a good deal on the 3 I need - cheers all.

Cotswold sell "Tuffmap" (I think it's called - but I left it in the car!) - they only laminate the map & not the cardboard cover, which is what I think aqua3 do. Means it is easier to fold the map to the area you need.
