    Hi All,

Ain't been here for ages, but am an old member making a return.
Haven't been doing much outdoorsy stuff for a while, but am desperate to get back into it. Thing is, I may need new boots, but a quick scoot round the shops of St Albans shows I have become a bit out of touch on what's hot and what's not on the walking scene. I'm after a pair of non gore tex leather boots, price about £100 or so.
Can boots such as there still be obtained? Everything I saw today was fabric and gore tex.

There's also the Scarpa Nepal (lighter than the SL) if you can find them anywhere. And the Lowa Munro - which looks good and I'm just off out to try on in Field and Trek!

Hi Beth, thanks for yourrecommendation, but meindlBorneo'shave a to wide heel for my feet, but maybe it would be worth trying other boots from that range.

    Thanks again.

I can also endorse the Meindl Borneo recommendation, if they happen to suit the shape of your feet. Mine are the best general walking/mountain boots I've found in 40+ years of trying.

Zamberlan Trek-Lite and Trail-Lite are available in lined, or unlined, versions from Osmotherley Walking Shop
