I was in George Fisher in Keswick looking at the GPS and mapping 'toys' but was put off by the fact that none of them appear to be Apple compatible?

Is this the case or is there a nice Mac ready setup available somewhere?

There are two reasonable GPS programs for the Mac, MacGPS Pro and Gpsy. Neither are quite up to the standards of PC software, and in particular there is a shortae of maps, but they're worth checking out.

Both these programs, and MacGPS Pro in particular are compatible with Garmin, Magellan and NMEA standard receivers.
