We've rounded up a few for our piece on waterfall ice, but what have we missed? Tell us and tell the world (or at least the bit that uses the forum...)

Only just noticed this! There don't seem to be many good sites around, esp. in English. I was in Kandersteg over Christmas; despite it being one of the top ice venues in Europe, I could find hardly any info before I left.

Anyway, these are the most useful sites I've found:

    http://www.basislager.ch/AB/eis.html
(in German) TRs/latest conditions for various Swiss routes, regularly updated.

    http://www.bergsteigen.at/eiskletternstartr.html
(in German) Austrian routes described, with topos. Substitutes for a guidebook.

    http://www.montagnes.com/glace/liste.asp
(in French) Lists and grades French routes. No descriptions/topos, but comprehensive.

    http://www.ice-fall.com/
(in French) Current conditions for French routes; limited area covered.

Search under eisklettern, wasserfallklettern, cascade de glace, etc for more info - 'ice climbing' doesn't turn up very much of use.

Thanks Joan, top stuff. I'm going to put a quick 'Holiday On Ice' thing up in the next few days based on my recent trip to the Ecrin. Unfortunately the forum no longer takes html due to someone messing around on BIKEmagic, so the links can't be live.

    dont start that again!
    see the spleen vented elsewhere!
Can I have some sympathy please?
I found out a year ago that I can no longer ice climb (or even do much vertical stuff at all) due to a fairly serious injury I tried to get back into it honest but it hurt too much ( it was also a bit chilly)

Okay, official site sympathy Clive. Actually we're all busy feeling sorry for ourselves right now what with the enduring dullness of trotter and gob ...

Anyway, keep working at it and here's hoping you get climbing again - try warm places, I always find it helps.
