Caught the last few minutes, but found that the guy travelling the silk routes and *walking* across the Gobi was far more interesting.

Post 2 & its already verging OT

Wasn't very impressed with the girlie chefs (cheffettes?) either

The silk routes program was really good. First time I've seen it. Peed off that I missed the first two.

Question - In the opening credits you see him on a snow capped mountain somewhere. Have I missed that one already?

They are members of the public this time not celebrities.

    And I watched Gobi, too

    They are famous cooks.

I see the term 'celebrity' as somewhat negative and empty. Like Jade Goody, who has never really 'done' anything....
    Sorry if you misunderstood me.

Ahaaa... but I recorded the nice man on the silk route programme, and plan to watch him on Saturday. I've seen him doing interesting stuff on the Adventure Channel at the weekend (when taking a break from the Cookery Channel).

I was a little confused about how they'd chosen the participants for Hell's Kitchen, since they didn't seem to be particuarly passionate about food. In fact, *I'm* much more passionate about food than any of them seemed to be! :-)

Initially I thought the bloke whose 'signature dish' involved Smash potato must have having a giggle, but he looked genuinely irritated when GR wasn't impressed. Also, the tall, young man looked as though he'd like to bash Gary about a third of the way through. I think it looks like rather a volatile situation! I certainly don't have that sort of excitement in the kitchen making broccoli/feta/pea salad, and mashing my potatoes!

How will I bear the excitement - it seems to be on all week! :-)

the silk routes was great the problem is that nick middleton (that guy) is pretty lame and doesnt make an attempt to do like others like the one in Nepal honey hunters

but the stuff like the hot rock beds and cooking things by putting stones in animals was cool

I think he's pretty good, at least in the series I saw on broadband :-)

Putting stones in animals sounds a bit mean, though! Poor things...

No! Surely not? A reality TV programme that looks volatile? How on earth would that happen? Surely they'd pick people who would all get along beautifully? I mean, the _last_ thing the producers want is trouble...

I think Gary Rhodes has been told to act tough, doesn't seem to be his character in my opinion.

I laughed when the cheffette Aby said about the French bloke - "I love *FRENCH BLOKE*, I just gush when he's near me" - is this a reference to Paula Radcliffe ? I just don't understand.
