These things have been surprisingly hard to find over time, especially given how big they are as a company.
(also the more built up Xodus line)

I guess the outdoors shops have links to explicitly outdoors brands and the running shops mostly sell to people running on roads.

Yep, I think you're about right there. We tend to be exposed to the trail running models from outdoor brands in the main because, I guess of the way, industry supply chains and retailer relationships work. That doesn't mean outdoors brands can't make decent trail running shoes, but specialist running brands tend to be good at what they do and I think these are a really nice shoe particularly if you have wider feet.

Saucs have been my go-to runners (well, okay, joggers) for over a quarter century now; like Scarpa stuff it just seems a good fit to my feet.

My first pair were some Jazz 5000s which I liked in part because they had a very good lugged outsole, and over the years since it's typically been the case that groovy swirly looks-good-on-the-shelf tread patterns have taken over. With that in mind it's good to see a proper gnarly mud-capable sole back on a pair of Saucs and I will put these on my "Bargain Alert Waiting List" along with a pair of Zen Pros...

The Grizzly Approach my daughter uses for orienteering and summer hills have been good, but they've been discontinued and the bargains have now run out with nothing looking quite as good in the sane price range her usage levels would dictate.

    Pete.

Ditto, I used Saucony on the road and easy trails for ages, where they worked really well for me. I've always like the fit and the slightly bouncy ride. Good shoes.
