I don't think we've made plans yet for any walks. We have to drive back to Worcestershire Sunday evening (work&school) so won't be doing anything major.

I quite fancy Place Fell as an easy Sunday walk. I'm thinking of getting the steamer from Glenridding over to Howtown then walking back over Hallin Fell, Sleet Fell, High Dodd, Place Fell summit, then down to Boredale Hause.

On Saturday I want to walk up Striding Edge (ticking off Birkhouse Moor on the way) to Helvelyn then back via Nethermost, Dollywagon, Deepdale and St Sunday.

I've booked into the YHA 2-miles up the road as the only rooms in the bunkhouse were 6-bed ones and they wanted to charge me for the empty five beds, which made that a bit steep.

That sounds good - I haven't done Striding Edge for about 20-years... And I seem to recall that St Sunday Crag is pretty good too.

I have camped at Skyside in about 1991 and seem to remember that Hartsop Dodd was a nice walk up to High Street

How are you going to do Deepdale and St Sunday as they are essentially parallel Mr Bastard?

I meant Deepdale Hause, not the dale itself, Mister Ed - drop down from Dolly to Grisedale Tarn then the hause and up onto St Sunday.

I was thinking about Red Screes, as not been up there yet. One possibility is I could head over from there to Deepdale Hause and meet you there, but knowing Skips pace, he'll be finished before I get there.
mobile signal is unlikely at Sykeside. Not sure if you can book tables there either but I'll give them a call, unless someone is going to get there really early.

This 'maybe' is a 'sorry won't be there' …….other commitments prevail. It would have been good to see you all.
