That might depend on the design of your rucksack, what is it?

To be honest, if you need to add 20L to a pack you need to take a long, hard look at the suitability of the pack.

20L is not a small amount to add and when full the pockets will seriously affect your balance and the comfort of the harness and back system.

    just seen the make.

The extra size and weight will make the freeflow design very unstable as the centre of gravity is already away from the normal location against your back.

Imagine straping 5 2L bottles of coke to the each side your pack.

The freeflow sacks are not really designed to carry that much weight, more of a day sack.

Recon thats your best plan and if you are wanting to use it for your 7 day wild camp you will need a well fitting and generousley proportioned backpacking sack.

I have, believe it or not, done 7 nights wild camping with a Freeflow II 50. I wrote about it in a different thread. If you think you'll need an extra 20L for all your stuff, I wouldn't buy anything that attaches to your Berghaus. At the beginning of my trip I had a fair amount of equipment "attached" to the outside of the sack. It wasn't comfy! The load was all wrong. In short, the Berghaus was struggling. It's still my favourite pack tho' for shorter trips, and is probably the most comfortable I've used yet. I reckon you'd be better off getting a bigger rucksack. Carrying 7 days worth of stuff will be a lot easier with a bigger bag.
