Whatever it does that is !

There is an Amadillo working in the local Council - he tells everyone which of the 5 council tax bands we are in - a five banded Amadillo!

    Shhh-ugar,

just spotted my deliberate misspelling of A(r)madillo.

Don't hold grudges do they? Anyone know?

(Council tax already too high !!)

Only 5 bands? You're lucky - we have 8 in our council!

Away from Armadillos just briefly, everytime I see or hear Judas Priest mentioned I think of their 'breaking the law' video - it's a shocker! Hasn't aged very well..

At least most of you on this thread grew up with cool music in 70's etc. My era was the 80's and I've always hated that cheesey synth sound. grrr.. Thank god that improved in the 90's.

If you're going to be pedantic, the general rule is that Soapbox stuff can really be about anything within reason. Where people are asking for 'serious' advice about gear or destinations or whatever, it's arguably more useful to keep it vaguely on topic.

Forums are organic though and sometimes things just drift off into the realms of semi-relevance. To be honest, I'm more concerned that we don't lose the generally friendly feel of the forum.

There are always going to be differences of opinion and things sometimes get heated - after all baselayer performance is a serious business - but as long as it doesn't descend into personal abuse, that's fine.

I've always found that it helps to remember that the other people on the forum are real people and I'd never say anything to someone online that I'd not say to their face. There used to be a forum code of conduct somewhere, that boiled down to pretty much that, but I don't seem to be able to find it.

Anyway, what the hell has this got to do with the outdoors :-)

I think i prefered it when the thread was highjacked by Led Zep lyrics. Or even Wurzel lyrics. (I'm still humming the tune to combine bloody harverster this morning...)

Far more important that outdoor stuff...

    ;-)

    Jon:
Are you SURE people on the forum are real?
Having met - albiet briefly - some of these alleged posters, I'm under the impression they were actors hired to play the role

    Tony,
That's exactly what my staff say when I issue an instruction 'Are you for real?'
