I don't know about any of you, but I am getting a little tired of the self appointed "censors" on this site who interject and attempt to stifle some excellent debating between OM members.
This has particular relevance when we get quotes like the sub description of my string.
I enjoy exchanging views with some intelligent people on this site, and despite what some people might think to the contrary, I do take in what some are saying and amend/adopt other viewpoints accordingly.
I have also had the privilege to meet some of the OMers in person, and again have struck up some very interesting conversation, and exchanged views on all matter of subjects, not necessarily on "outdoors" subjects either.
All I can say to those who consistently attempt to turn this site into a "purist" outdoors site only, when you are out on the hills, do you limit your conversations with your companions to matters outdoors only? If you do, then you must have a very boring time!
I do understand the loss of clarity sometimes, and especially when humour is introduced, after all, humour is very subjective. That is why I try to use emoticons where I can.
Another thing that winds me up is when people complain when threads are taken off at a tangent. I have seen some of my threads taken off theme many at time, and I think we should just live with it, it all adds to the tapestry of life in a country where we should be VERY grateful that we can "talk" to each and express our diverse range of views without constantly looking over our shoulder. (metaphorically speaking!)
Finally, if someone doesn't think a topic is not relevant to their interests, then they have the privilege of NOT joining the debate.
Luvly this democratic stuff eh ???
