Good selection of jackets and review, thanks.

I've got one of the original Flux jackets from Montane and while it's great and well-featured, it's not enough for full-on cold winter use / long stops (not for me anyway!) I've got a beefier jacket for that, so it's interesting to see these reviews of others. Agree that the Fitzroy has a good balance. Be interesting to know about the new Paramo Torres light as the smock version is great but too boxy for me at least.

Not just saying it because I own one, but I've owned more expensive makes and not been as impressed as I am with my mountain warehouse extreme down jacket. 100% real down fill, and warmth is immense. I use it for british summit mountaineering in Winter! and we camp on summits where temperatures with wind chill regularly dip below -10c. Providing you keep it dry with a decent waterproof over layer, I have never been cold in it.

Any update on the Torres Light review, Jon? I want to use it for British summit mountaineering in winter...

I've got a Yeti. It leaks down like nothing else I've ever worn. Excellent cut and fit are no compensation.
