I lived in Achnashellach and Torridon from 1965 to 1974 where I met and married Dave Goulder, (hostel warden and composer). We opened an independent Hostel in Glen Torridon in 1967. I learned today of the death of Dick Balharry who was warden at Ben Eighe nature reserve, and with whom we worked on deer and eagle conservation and much more. Being now somewhat 'older and wider' I have hung up my boots, but I can answer queries about my era in the Highlands, and also have photographs and all the old registers from Torridon. I am now in Derbyshire. Dave and I divorced in 1981, but remain in touch.

A very warm welcome to you, Liz!

Torridon must have been very different 50 years ago! I've got some friends who used to be wardens at the YHA at Pen y Pass and then Kings outside Dolgellau. They've got some fascinating stories - looking forward to hearing some of yours
