As i've said before, there's nothing wrong with the colour. I never pitch where i could be seen, so makes no difference to me.

The colour is fine, as someone else said earlier it would be great if it had the hillie durability but that would add weight.
    Cracking tent as it is.

I'd like to know how much a cuben version would weigh...(and cost I suppose, not that I can afford the normal version!)

Don't hold your breath for one but it would cost about twice as much and save you about 200g.

Jinch: "You don't know the half of it. Luckily neither does my wife.". A friend told me the other day how his boss has FOUR cars his wife doesn't know about!

The Scarp's colour is one of the main reasons I went for the Akto, plus the faith I have in their products, when I wanted a reliable tent for my trip across northern Norway and Sweden 2 years ago. But the Scarp does look good and I do wonder...

It's a shame they don't do modifications, I thought that was part of the reason people loved the US cottage manufacturers so much...

Another shame is that Sean at Oook doesn't make shelters, that's something I'd be interested to see.

Henry, will do some modifications, if you ask him. I know peeps he's do so for, plus on other tents/traps in the range..

Minor mods such as adding an extra tie out can be done by TT in Nevada City but things like adding a door zip are a lot more complex needing some re-design and having to check the structural integrity after that so really more expensive and time consuming than it may seem.

Henry will also send parts or suggest parts for you to do your own customisations.

FYI, Sean at Ookworks gave me these prices for Scarp mods:

£50 per inverted T (so £100 if you wanted both sides doing)

£50 per side to add an additional zip on each fly (so you could roll up both sides of the fly, on either side of the pole, like this mockup:

I like the look of the mods and if I had one, doing the inverted T zip and extra outer zip on one side would be the bees knees.

The Notch lets you do the roll up both sides of the fly thing; its rather nice for gazing.

I've not seen the Notch in real ife, Ed and it's probably a great tent but I do fancy the Scarp. I saw one stand up to real manky weather in the Lahes and fancied it but kept thinking "well, maybe" but now I've leapt into "go 'ead lad, get one!" mode. I like the look of it but couldn't understand why it has those (to me) daft zip configurations. The one above with the T zips and two way doors looks just brillant...for stargazing as well!

    Wheres that bloody credit card?

I agree - Sean at Oookworks thought so to! Unfortunately it pretty much doubles the price of the Scarp 1, so it would have to be a definite keeper for a good few years!

Still tempted come the summer, though....

    Hee hee! Temptations eh!

Mind you, it offers partial "perfection" I thought that if I get 1 side done for £100,thatwould probably do me just fine. Hang on....ain't got a bloody tarp yet!

But if I do get one, then the whole of one side mod is my chrimmy present!
