Hi folks. I mentioned at Coniston that I was going to organise a Langdale weekend and a couple of peeps said they wanted it in the first half of April.

This is one of three Lake District OM camping meets coming up.

This meet will be at the National Trust Great Langdale campsite (NY287058). Contact the campsite to pre-book a pitch or just turn up but it is the last weekend of the Easter school hols and they have been known to turn folk away if they decide that it is"full". Medium camping pitches are £41 for two folks for the weekend including car - about a tenner each per night.

They don't like groups. Just book or turn up individually.

Tents are best at the far side of the site; drive through the pay station, turn right and keep going. There is a small triangular field at the end right next to your cars for convenience.
Food/ale available in the ODG. The Stickle Barn has been taken over by the National Trust and it's now not 'what it was' by all accounts and the NT has chosen not to continue the Stickle Barn camping barn business

Fells a-plenty. I need to re-visit some old haunts.

Sorry you can't make it on either of the other two JJ. Hope the surgery goes well.

We recently checked out Wainwright's at Chapel Stile as our beloved Ambleside chippy was closed on Mondays . Had heard both good and bad things about it.

We found it extremely welcoming, various good beers but didn't partake but the food was very good too. Never really took to the Stickle Barn but will def go back to Wainwright's as well as the ODG.

JJ - It's my grandma's 100th Birthday on Sat 13th April, so we will be having a family get-together in the afternoon, but I'll come up to Langdale Saturday evening, so I can at least enjoy the pub with you guys Saturday and coma a walk on Sunday.

The Mini-Meet was fab - we had a great walk on Saturday with lots of snow to play in. We went to Stickle Tarn, Pavey Ark, Thunacar Knott, Harrison Stickle, Pike'o'Stickle then a trudge to Stake Pass and return to base via the Cumbria Way. Thanks to Milly and Mitch for convivial company.

Thanks to Ninja Marmot for setting this meet up. An excellent walk on Saturday, with rain setting in only from about 4pm. The high winds and downpours through the night into Sunday morning made the brunch trip to Ambleside a shoo-in

Pics to follow - still doing battle with soggy kit

That sounds great. A shame I wasn't able to make it but I'm really glad you had such a good time

Still so much snow up there.

Glad the weekend went well, a potter around the Pikes always good.

We haven't been up there for years and years. It was good to get back.
