Wonderful Wasdale Weeeknd Meet 14 - 16 June 2013 @ Wasdale Head NT Campsite £25.50 standard pitch for one person (ouch.......)

Anyway, I fancy a wander up to Scawfell, via Lord's Rake on Saturday and then a walk around the beautiful round of Illgill Head, Whin Rigg then along the track by Wast Water, back to the campsite on Sunday.

And of course food and local beer at Wasdale Head on Friday and Saturday evenings..... fun fun fun guaranteed.

So who's up for it? As usual add your name to the list (and I'd recommend booking your site at the campsite asap if you are coming)....

The pub campsite is only £5 a night and there's bogs and showers for campers use now. Check the Wasdale Web .

    Yes got it, thanks all....

I'm having a little luxury for once, there's no facilities at the field by the pub, except the toilets outside and I will have been 'roughing it' in Scotland for the past month...

Of course anyone is welcome to stay there rather than the NT campsite. And i think we'll just have to turn up at the campsite and pretend we don't know each other.... stealth mode....

So who's up for it? As usual add your name to the list (and I'd recommend booking your site at the campsite asap if you are coming)....I've booked..... whoo hoo

Anyone remember the meet at the pub site in 2007 when the guy with the cathedral tent turned up, complete with inflatable double bed and even a telly, and had a right go at us the next morning?!

Darren bashed his head in the bar and Howard Christie gave us a bollocking for making too much noise, a bit cheeky considering how much we spent in his lousy pub.

We've done excellent "goodness, what a surprise to meet you here" stealth tactics at other meets and not had problems

Definitely can't make this one, I'm afraid.

I've had the misfortune to share a campsite with a OM meet many years ago - not pleasant.

The campers facilties are much improved since the Inn took over the site from the shop. They even do bacon butties for campers. The public don't have access to the bogs although plenty try.

Any OM meets I've been on where there was noise was created by others. There was the group with the noisy music at the Vaynol, and the bloke who started up his diesel car at about 5am on the Sykeside meet in '07; he got pretty short shrift from one of the OMers - whatsisname, with the Skoda Octavia, bearded bloke. I can't remember his name!!

To give everyone the widest choice of dates and location, there will also be an OM camping meet at Great Langdale on the weekend of 31 May - 2 June. If you can get the time off, come to both
