@ Smoky Foxholes campsite looks good - not too expensive either. What about the bunk barn Nick mentions - will you ask about it?

@ Nick Rose Yes, you're right I also find the path along the spine of the Stiperstones ridge uncomfortably stony underfoot. The hard quarzite boulders resist weathering and seem to retain their angularity and sharp edges.

Yes Nick, you're right, it is 6 in a bunkhouse for £40 which is great value and I did enquire about it but it's already booked for that weekend.

I'm in for Foxholes, should we book seperately? Do we need a map to get back from the pubs in Bishops Castle?

Not sure they take bookings for tents Miko but they have put at least 4 in their diary so are expecting us.

Actually, think you do have to book so will let them know there are four definites. Doubt it will be a problem if anyone else wants to join us.

Apparently not a good idea to come back from the pub via very muddy field.

Ah, but is there any other way?

When the list is settled perhaps you could give them a ring, Smoky?

Yeah, as long as they're up for the craic and reasonably brisk walkers*

Will the three of you be arriving in one car? If so, watch this space for car-shuffle plans to get everyone to and from start and finish points.

    * I only mention pace because at a recent event someone turned out to so much slower than the majority that there was a bit of impatience and frustration

@ Simon D OK. The only slight issue is transporting everyone between the start point and end point (or vice versa). Any chance of splitting your group between two cars (so that you can have a vehicle at each end of the walk)? If not, we'll manage I'm sure.

Here's a photo of the Stiperstones taken by Teesdale Viking - there are a few tors to play on

I'll have a recce this week then I'll post the arrangements for meeting up, parking, route, and camping - watch this space. At least the weather forecast looks OK-ish.

Any more joining the list? Any confirmations or drop-outs?

Confirming attendance camp and walk. I only have a little car but could ferry 2/3 back to the start from the car drop spot at the finish. Someone else could take bags if huge! Weather looking good (fingers crossed!)

    Logging in from college:

Just been informed that internal observations will be next week and some bright spark has also decided that we'll have a parents evening for our level 2 & 3 students in the same week, so I've fifty reports to write.

I'm still hoping I can get to the meet, but the pressure's on to get all my s**t done.

I've completed the level 2 reports (only thirteen of those) and amended a couple of schemes of work, just another forty-odd level 3s to do, some gaps to fill on SofW and a few weeks worth of detailed lesson plans to type up.

    Doable, just tedious.
