"What are those blue remembered hills,, what spires, what farms are those?"
A E Housman
What could be finer than striding across heather-clad moorland on a bright winter's day? After the success of our OM walk along the Malvern ridge a month or two ago, I am thinking of organising another midlands all-day walk in early December.
This initial post is to gauge interest and narrow down possible dates. I prefer a Sunday again (but it doesn't have to be be)
If enough people come we could arrange a car shuffle so that we had vehicles at each end (that worked out well at Malvern) thus allowing a one-way walk.
The route I have in mind would be to set off from Church Stretton, walk up Carding Mill Valley on to Long Mynd, visit Pole Bank (the summit point) then cross Wildmoor, descend into the valley at Ratlinghope then head west to the Stiperstones ridge, visit the summit outcrop at Devil's Chair then descend to Snailbeach. Total distance about eleven miles with two fairly gentle 250metre ascents from the valleys.
Anyone up for it? If so, what date(s) would suit?
