    Hi

Chris mentioned the Westcomb APOC and LT Hoody in his article on the gear he used on the last TGO challenge. Having looked on the internet there's little to distinguish between them. So are the 'Napoleon' pockets on the LT Hoody big enough to hold an OS map? I ask because of the current price difference between them and would like to know if the pockets will hold an OS map. That for me would be the only reason for paying an extra $100 for the LT Hoody.

If it is of any help, the one and only pocket on the Shift LT has a 7 1/2" long zip and the pocket is about 12" top to bottom and 6" wide.

DNT Turkarts (9" x 4 1/2") fit in easily, but I don't have an OS map here to test!

Then I would advise you not to buy any french items. They are expensive and have no pockets big enough for maps. This may be due to the fact that most french people only hike in July and August and after 7 years I have only evermet one french person carrying a map.

I haven't bought any yet. I'm kicking myself as the Westcomb Apoc was on sale for approx. $330 on one American website. By the time I'd made up my mind it was no longer at the reduced price.

The Switch is made from Polartec Neoshell. The shift isn't. I'm only interested in Neoshell jackets for the breathability given that I'm a sweaty bastard. I can't justify spending $480 on the Switch just at the moment until I'm convinced that my Rab eVent jacket isn't up to the job.
