I'm driving up from Wiltshire, Becky, so can't sensibly offer you a lift. Hope someone else can. I, too, haven't managed to get on an OM meet previously, but am looking forward to some good walking company and 'putting faces' to some of the folk here.

    Welcome?

    Certainly. Definitely. Undoubtedly, assuredly, unquestionably.

You'd be undeniably welcome. Indubitably so, in fact.

I'm not sure what my travel arrangements will be yet (but watch this space). Or someone else might be able to divert up that way. Are you far off the M42 and/or A45?

I'm about a mile from the M42and about2 miles from the A45, but would happily cycle to a pickup spot if anyone was passing through on their way

    Hey Skip,

I will come and join you if that's okay. If you are going to camp on Saturday and have a warm up let me know as I would prefer that rather than an early drive Sunday.

We've still got the Crib on our to do list for this year - are you going to make it?

    Regards

    Neil

Hi Neil, yeah of course it's OK - welcome along. I'm not sure who's camping the night before (I think some people will be) and I haven't finalised my own arrangements yet. I'll let you know either on here or by email.

Yup, I'm still hoping to get back to Snowdonia before winter. It's finding time to fit it in as I've got quite a few other trips planned. For me, Crib Goch will depend on the weather to some extent. I'd far sooner walk the arete in still air and on dry rock - in fact, I'd give it a miss if it was wet underfoot or windy.

    Hi Skip,

Thanks for the invite. Perhaps soneone could suggest a site for Saturday night who knows the area (with a pub within walking distance).

LMM & I intend to walk on the Long Mynd on Saturday and then camp here perhaps on Saturday night. I'm told there are two pub campsites for the Malverns, but one of them is better. Hopefully, it is this one?

Becky - I can give you a lift back on Sunday but we won't be coming your way on Saturday (unless you want to get a train to Church Stretton and fancy camping)

Milly: the Marl bank *is* the better one. Next door to a pub and quite popular.

I won't be able to come at all: sadly be elsewhere, but hope it all goes well and the weather is good for you all. It's a cracking walk and you'll be able to see my house from British Camp.....

Get on your roof with a bucket of white emulsion and paint your name in big letters so we know which house is yours.

@ Milly Welland is convenient but that pub campsite seems quite expensive?

I'm hopeful of squishing 2 for £15, so not too awful. Otherwise, £10 each...

Is there a wild camp to be had - it looked a bit unlikely?

I think the Malvern Conservators are very anti camping on the hills and commons and I often see their Rangers about during the day. Mind you, the hills at the southern end of the ridge are well wooded.

@ Milly and LMM I am probably going to car-camp on the Saturday night to save driving over very early Sunday. Can you confirm where you will be camping - is it still the campsite at Welland?

@ Everyone I hope we can all collaborate on having vehicles at each end of the walk - that way, we don't have to walk the eight miles back to our start point.

Who is coming by car and with whom if sharing? How many cars will we have in total?

Skip - I think it's the campsite but Mills is Commander in Chief on this one, so better wait her response. I know she is mightly busy at the mo tho' so may take her a little while to respond - may be best to PM her!
