Just a quick heads up on our latest promotion with Columbia. It's a sort of belated January sale of a competition - all you have to do is turn up at one of a number of nominated Columbia stores over the next few weeks or so before anyone else and hand over the magic voucher and you could walk away with a brand new Omni-Dry jacket worth almost £200.

Simple, and eight runners up could win free Columbia base layer tees to help make up for the disappointment of missing out on the waterproof shell.

Anyway, there it is. Check out the Columbia Competition Page for full details etc. And good luck.

Yes, good point. Can you tell that I'm suffering from a delightful death lurgee that left most of my brain determindedly not very sharp?

However, thanks to my editorial super powers, I've amended the article to reflect reality. I didn't, by the way, write the original compeition page.

I managed to get one of the baselayers last weekend. Still were some available at 12 ish at Castle. Seems pretty good, went out for a run in the sun and it did the job! Had to persuade the shop to accept my online voucher though, they almost didn't accept it - saying the offer was only with the magazine/needed a code.

Nooooooooo, a base layer at most, we've got to keep the valuables South of the border, don't want savages getting their hands on "technical" gear, they may invade.

Hmm... my travel expenses going to the nearest shop in North Yorkshire rather offsets the potential winnings...

No participating stores in Scotland that I can see, so yes, I'll have to get up very early to get a chance of one of these.

Please note that I went to the sale last Saturday and they (Trekitt, Hereford) only had one jacket of each size, now they only have a small mens and a x-large, large and medium womens left. I think that Columbia should have made this clear as the guy infront of me was unable to get a jacket as he was a large. Badly played Columbia, a lot of angry people out there now, especially after waiting 5-6 hours!!

One consolation for all the angry people - they don't have a Columbia jacket.

COULD HAVE BEEN PLANNED A LITTLE BETTER BUT IT WAS ALL GOOD IN THE END. EVERYONE HERE GOT THE JACKET THEY WANTED. THE MAIN CONFUSION WAS TWO JACKETS ON EACH DAY OR TWO JACKETS OVER THE WEEKEND. THERE ARE MOST SIZES AVAILABLE OUT IN HATHERSAGE FOR THE FINAL WEEKEND.

Don't think it was all good for anyone in Scotland - or are you referring to Rosswm's comment?

Please don't keep the caps lock on, in terms of net etiquette, it means you are shouting.
