Sunday January 22nd saw a few of us tackle Drum, Foel Fras, Pen y Castell & Llwytmor on the wilder side of the Carneddau, Snowdonia. Although it was quite windy, in excess of 60mph in some gusts, it did remain dry and virtually cloud free sumitts. I really like this part of the Carneddau. Quite a few carneddau ponies knocking about adds to the free nature of the place. Back at the car park, high above the Aberfalls car parks, we were met by fireman sam as there was quite a large area of srubland ablaze next to the path. It started when we were on our descent and it was hardly noticeable, until we got near to it.
