That's interesting, I thought the tent was easy to pitch on my first attempt, the only thing I got wrong was that the strap that goes under the groundsheet wasn't where it was supposed to be so I had to unpeg/re-peg one end whilst I was putting it up. Things tighter than they should be and some bits loose? Frayed and unfinished bits? Mine is alright anyway seems good quality to me. I don't think the pegs are that bad other than that they hurt your hands! I prefer my other aluminium pegs though, as I'll be using the tent in Spring/Autumn in the Highlands and will be subject to a good hammering from the weather. I need to make sure it's anchored down properly, I also use big plastic pegs as well as aluminium ones, they wont come out even if the ground is boggy. Titanium? Pah! I'm not getting out of my tent in the middle of the night in the wind and rain with a torch looking for those little buggers when they come out.

The guylines are alright, do you cut your toothbrush in half?

As for it raining when you pitched it, I'd like to pitch mine in strong wind and rain for practice but October Scottish weather up a mountain can be difficult to simulate.

Nah, I don't cut my toothbrush in half so I suppose changing the guylines is a bridge too far. The titanium pegs are class, used them for a few years now with no problems. I'm very happy with the tent, although it looks like I'm not. I'll shut up now!

As for a feather boa - after you, sir...

Makes little difference anyway, it blows in all bloody directions once you've pitched it and the slugs get in your food bag.

It looks like the same pegs that came with my Sololite, they are torture instruments at times, use your feet to peg them in and after extracting one, painfully, use it to unpeg all the others. But they do the job...

When/where have you got in mind Colonel? (For a meet).

A gang wild camping goes against proper etiquette: how about that Bathams pub in Wales?

The only proviso I'd have about a meet is it has to be within distance of a Eurolines coach stop. I'll be coming from Ireland so Wales North/South, and other area's that I can't pinpoint now as I don't have the Eurolines brochure close to hand. But after saying all that, pretty much anywhere lol.

    Nope - Zephyros owners only

And anyway, what is there to gloat about? We're quite happy with our Zephyros', otherwise we wouldn't have bought them...

I agree with you Colonel: besides, I have a Comp too and don't see what there is to gloat about.

True there is a significant weight saving but there is a significant cost penalty that goes with it.

I think the Zephyros is an exciting product that will stir up the market.

    Haha, only joking.

Roy who made that youtube review has/had a comp too, and he seems to like the Zephyros.

If i could justify the outlay i'd get one too, this could be the next hike-lite, if they keep it around £90, or contest the original Tiger Paws if it could be sold even cheaper, maybe.

I did notice that about the youtube review.

I love my comp, and don't want to part with it. I think the Zephyros 2 is the perfect replacement for my Spectre as a two man tentto use when Icamp with my lad.

I still think the Zephyros is going to be a great success; I've always liked Wild Country.

Those photos that Masterluke posted show the internal tent pretty much filled to capacity with one sleeping bag.
Not mesured lengh, but width is as follows

    Ends approx 64cm

middle approx 90cm. So it is smaller than stated on the diagram.

I have ordered the Zephyros 2 from Sports Direct: £120.00 with free p & p (some other special offer to waive the £3.99).

I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh! The girlfriend was delighted to see the order confirmation!

Thanks for the dimension confirmation Ant, those dimensions are about the same as a Laser Comp.

It looks as if Wild Country have got their schematic wrong (the photos that Master Luke posted seemed to verify this).

What about the length too Ant? Is it 230cm as claimed or more like 220cm (same as the Comp.)?

I hope they're not this far out on the Zephyros 2!

    Mine arrived today

certainly can't fault the service from Field and Trek, delivery 24 hours after ordering.

Pegs and guys dumped, replaced with Ti nails, Crux Lightning pegs and 2mm Dyneema.
