This is a new thread for owners of the Wild Country Zephyros to leave their reviews and experiences with the tent. It would be nice to get some photos of the tents in action.

There are two models: The Zephyros 1 & The Zephyros 2.

The tents look similar to Terra Nova Lasers (single tranverse hoop with end struts).

Below is a schematic of the Zephyros 2:

I'm not sure how to go about this - I have 12 photos of the tent added to my gallery. If you view the image can you also view the others rather than me posting all 12? And yes I know the grass needs cutting I like the tent I think it's great, I can see the inner and flysheet touching though in strong gusting winds but not significantly so, I wont know until I use it in anger in some 'orrible conditions and in any case this is the first attempt at pitching it and I couldn't attach the guyline around the back of the tent because of the bushes. The pegs are not bad at all actually but I prefer my other ones. There's a nice big space each end where I could store things, bags of food

    Agreed.

It is a good looking tent. Anyone want a Vango Spectre 200 or a Terra Nova Laser Competition?

Nice photos masterluke, I thought this topic would create a lot of interest when I first mentioned about this tent in my original post. It kind of looks too good to be true but I'm sure its a fine tent. I'm thinking of getting one just for the hell of it and to keep my Akto for best if that makes sense. Cant wait to hear the reports on its performance. Also I bet soon their will be people shaving grammes off by changing guylines and webbing to dyneema and pegs to titanium and the all the usual stufff.

I also have a Vango Spectre 200, an MSR Zoid 2 and a Vango Spirit 300+! One can never have too many tents though, can one...?!

In what form, in it's own bag? I've been trying to figure out how best to pack the tent in my rucksack, my other tent I've been previously using - MH Sprite 1 is inner pitching first so I pack the inner and flysheet separately in the side pockets. Detaching and reattaching the inner/flysheet I will find to be too much faff esp. when it's every day, I want to keep it 'as-one' for ease of pitching. At the moment it's in a compression bag (the sort you seal & squeeze and roll the air out) which has squashed it up well, it's a comparable size to the clothes which I do the same with. Obviously I've had to remove the small end poles first. If anything it has probably freed up space with the space now available in the side pockets for something else. The only problem with squashing things up into compression bags is that it can be difficult/impossible to do when you have freezing cold wet hands!

I also have a Vango Spirit 200 and a MH Sprite 1 which may not get used now that I have the Zephros. I also have 3 bivi bags which seems a bit daft as well. I've now got 3 sleeping bags n' all for that matter when I only need one.

Question for those of you that have used the similar Competition/Laser - how do you best pitch these tents into the wind? They don't have a rear end as such, I haven't used a single pole tent before.

I'm really being good not buying this tent, just to add it to my Sololite and Aspect 1 and turn into Mr Wild Country

Looks a fine little number for sure!

Many thanks to masterluke for this early review and some great photos! I'll almost certainly be buying one of these later in the year now.

I take it then it pitches inner and fly together?

Examples of packed size - once I had removed the carbon end poles. The original pack size is quite big, but done right it is quite easy to fit in a pack for wildcamping. The carbon poles pop in with the alu ones and at 54cm the pole bag slots nicely down the back of my pack. Pegs are easily accommodated anywhere.

    1. in mesh stuff sack together (fly/inner) - not compressed. 28cm L x 18cm W x 10cm H

    2. Inner rolled up - not compressed. 28cm x 10cm x 10cm
    Flysheet rolled up - not compressed. 27cm x 8cm x 9cm

I would have posted pics but 'Safari' is not playing.

My preferred option for pitching is not to pitch as one. My reason being, that once the outer is pitched, I can go inside the tent and see much better where I need to remove twigs/pinecones, etc. The inner is straightforward to attach, and in a morning I can pack away to just the flysheet, and chill for a bit with a cuppa, before folding the fly and sitting it at the top of the pack.
