So just for Milly, I am organising another "Lakes" meet and rather selfishly SHE fancies the Kentmere Horshoewith wildcamping galore (actually she fancied Coniston but we are doing that the fortngiht earlier)......still.....will also be exciting I'm sure!

Finer details to be decided nearer the time.....once i get a few of the other "meets" done first.

So, as ever, if you fancy, all welcome.....

I don't think I'm on call that week So sounds good, providing I'm not barred after attending the first meet

Perhaps - but if you don't start until lunchtime due to a heavy session the night before and are already dangerously dehydrated due to alcohol it could be just the thing for a weekend.*

    * This is allguessing on my part and has no basis in any prior experience of the characters attending this weekend.

Nice bothy. It had an armchair or two last time I was there (that was a while ago).

Armchairs got taken down due to people throwing one on the fire apparently. Only stayed their once but mates have done new year there. We went there whent the two "characters" who look after it were maintaining the roof. What a bunch of Pi$$h3ads! they're old enough to know better. I mean carling black label!!! If you're out to get drunk on cheap beer at least stick to the finest fighting vinegar that is Stella!! nice bottle of wine with their meal though so they can do classy too.

It is Mosedale Cottages. Those two guys told us a story about when it was lived in. A young lass and her older brother had to walk back from a friend or family's house in one valley back there and the weather came in all wintry. Anyway she died and is apparently to be heard a nd even seen to this day. When the weather is claggy and there is a walker struggling against the weather and trying to navigate their way to safety there is this young lass in old fashioned clothing holding the hand of the struggling walker. Some people have reported that when they were lost up there and in trouble they just seemed to "know" which way to go like they suddenly had a guiding force heloing them out.

Not sure how true it is but a nice story apart from the bit about the lassie dying of course.

Anyway Mosedale Cottages is very nice bothy. It even has a toilet too!!

BTW LMM I'm up for this meet after my disappointment about having to go to my mates' wedding on the Coniston one. Although I think I could end up coming on that one too for Friday night (got a flexi day as I worked through the wedding friday) and can do saturday up to a point as I either have to make it to the ceremony about 3pm or more likely 6ish at the piss-up afterwards!! Talking of which I have a bottle and half of red wine to get through tonight, better get cracking!!

Cheers for organising the meets Maria. If I thought anyone would come I'd do one up in the Glentrool hills. Range of the Awful Hand and Rhinns of Kells over a weekend. Also known as the Bruce's Crown (a now defunct weekend fell race).

Wouldn't mind going on this, really need to bag Selside Pike.

(wish i never bet my brother i could do all 214 fells in a year, not a hard task apart from living miles away and always busy at weekends.)

Got a Mod Weekender in my home city and was planning of meeting up with the Old Gang and have a revial and catch up etc..
