So, you wouldn't advise the woodburning set up your mate had?!
I guess you were doing something other than walking* to make such little distance on day 2 ?
*Birdwatching/letterboxing/crawling?
Are you certain that was Hound Tor you were camping at?
Certainly not Hound Tor in the photo captioned so! (Wild Tor maybe?).
There aren't many outcrops at Hound Tor at all. This is it:

lol, we did start very late, gone 10 and I'm very good at aimless wandering and looking at wildlife and taking many photos

This is another example of how I missed Fur Tor on the first attempt
