towards the end of the month I`ll be organising a trip from Bowes to Forest-In-Teesdale, possibly Langdon Beck on the B6277 (Youth Hostel) (does anyone know of any safe parking in this area, I`ll we will be dropping a second car off in this location?)

dude how did the bowes loop trip go on saturday? looks like you had a nice day for it. i ended up waiting til sunday (as the super dooper weathermen has predicted a crap day sat), and ended up not on top of Cross Fell, but on Mickle Fell. No not a monstrous navigational error, found out there was an access weekend on the Warcop army range.

Back on topic I'm probably not much help regarding the parking situation up there, but there's the hotel at Langdon Beck about half a mile from the youth hostel, dunno if they'll let you park if you promise to pop in for a pint later. There's a couple of spots down the road to Cow Green reservoir where Ive left the car, I mean I've left my car all over the pennines with no trouble, just make sure you dont leave owt valuable in sight. The ideal place to park would be Middleton-in-Teesdale but then you'd have to get a taxi back down there afterwards.

    thanks for the info Stouffer

yes our trip was great, a couple joined us from London on the FM site and a young lady from this site, we did a total of just over 29 mile, the longest I`ve actually done in one go, we were really lucky with the weather and it turned out to be a really nice day
