Sorry about that. It is Lac Blanc come to think of it. I always get those two confused. Its the one with the cafe nearby.

If you are interested the picture was taken with a cheap nikon compact camera and was originally two pictures stitched together using some free software I found to make a seemless panarama.

I great photo and excellent photo stitching - I find it really difficult to get a decent result with large areas of clouds and water (waves) because of the movement. What software did you use?

Cant remember the name of the software I used to stitch it, but I used photoshop to tidy it up and make the seam look flawless.

    Thanks Richard!

I will try that next time I attempt a stitch with waves/clouds. However the first thing to do will be to learn when not to take a picture as I always end up with about 50 junk photos to every one worth keeping and my hard drive is complaining about the backlog awaiting sorting. Sadly even the keepers dont compare to yours!

Sorry about the typo at the beginning of my previous post - just noticed it.

Thanks, but the picture was more luck than judgement I can assure you.

The new version of photoshop has something called 'Content Aware Fill' which I have seen used by my brother. It cleverly and quickly fills in gaps and cutouts automatically and would probably have saved me a lot of time.

It is indeed Lac Blanc, you can see a reflection of the Mont Blanc range in the water. I took this photo when I was there in July 2009
