Recently returned to the UK and on a borrowed computer where all the sites I go to display the pager as wider than the screen so I have to scroll right and left to get to content.

Not fatal but really annoying (to me). I'm using Firefox and have looked in the menu bar but can't find a handy 'reduce width' button.

I'm used to a display where the page width fits the screen width.

    All help gratefully accepted.

    Thanks

Try Zoom-reset first, otherwise try reload. It may be your screen resolution which is at fault but I know nothing, I just fiddle until I get things right. It's always good to record what you do, though.

No longer resident in the land of the Atlas mountains, I'll have to change my photo and come up with a better name.

I'm sure FAL is very resolute, Mal!

Ah, Suffolk, not many hills - hoping to get up to the Lakes in June. Still settling into life in the UK for the first time in a number of years.

    It is VERY strange.

Not sure what OS you are using, but for XP or Vista, do the following:

    Start > Control panel > Display/Appearance >adjust screen resolution

Hi NPC and Mal, the resolution WAS wrong (I'm using XP) and I've reset it but I now have swathes of white at either side of the screen looks like a ratio of 1/5 to the left, 2/5 of web page and then another 2/5 of white on the RHS.
