Just started to use the site and already I'm frustrated with the amount of advertising windows that keep opening up for News Daily and Flight comparison. I had to quit my browser just to close them all down at once. Is it just me or is anyone else out there getting frustrated? Also where is the contact details to ask someone from the site any queries about using the blogs and forums any ideas anyone.

Sally - welcome to the forum. Download Firefox & AdBlockPlus (ABP), and use that when on OM. You can set it to filter out the adverts you don't want, which if you're anything like me (hopefully for your sake you're not), will mean banning all of them!

welcome sally. you'll soon get used to having no hair from having torn it all out in frustration. it's quite normal.

best to ask about stuff within the forum.

as to your probelms there will be along shortly the fisher price lot asking why you use a pc and the lot who insist you must change your browser ignoring the fact that you may have no choice in the matter.

if you can, try firefox with adblock to get rid of the annoying ads.google chrome is well worth using too. these are readily downloadable and installed.

due to om's persistence in running very annoying adverts there is a wealth of info on here that tells you how to block it all - some technical, some not.

you need to try and keep you cursor away from things which is easier said than done.

    Welcome to the forum Sally.

I use Internet Explorer 8 and I have no problems with pop up ads.

But, I have pop-ups blocked and also have the Security tab in internet Options (accessible via the tools tab) set to Medium High.

If I set it any higher, many websites and forums end up being blocked....

I've had to add this site to the "restricted" list of Internet Explorer (see the "Security" options tab). That stops all whiziness. Can't see videos though.

Haven't had a problem when using Opera as a browser.
