    Bob,

I think Geoff was referring to not being able to post comments on your blogspot, as opposed to your trip report posting on OM.

Got to Forum then Trip Reports and start a new thread. There are no hard and fast rules about where you've been

Hi wildboy . You can start your own thread within any forum topic, if you wish. It'll then show in the 'New Discussions' area and, consequently, might get a few more responses.

Sorry to say that I'm no expert on insect repellent (nor nuffinx else, really). I've got the bites to prove it.

Nothing prevents insects from biting, except a physical barrier. Lotions and potions will leak in your wash bag and melt all plastic within touch. You will have melted plastic and ink on your hands while the insects will be totally unharmed.

Any effective defence will require the constant smoking of tobacco in whatever form you prefer OR full military wear - midge suits etc OR a preparation that prevents the blighters from biting through the skin i.e. Skin so Soft from Avon (now rebranded and roundly condemned as less effective).

The final solution is to grow up with the beasties thus earning a natural immunity which I enjoy from Glasgow midges.

Not that it matters in London........

Midge Coils I find affective ,in the tent doorway on a still day. Midges don't stay around long once a breeze starts up anyway. Cheers

I've been to the city where some episodes of The game of the thrones where shot. It's called Dubrovnik, Croatia. This city is just amazing. I recommend everyone to visit it.
