Terra Nova Laser Comp: Help

Hi folks,

The end pole sleeve came clean of the flysheet of my TN Laser comp and I had to effect an emergency repair. The Pitch looked about average and conditions where not too bad.

I have the Laser comp up for sale and if it sells I am very tempted by the Lightwave Trek T0 (or Ultra).

Out of eight important factors (see below) the Laser comp only wins 2 out of 8 and only by a small margin.

I am torn between selling it our keeping it, if you had any advice on how you would deal with this dilema or advice on how to "beef" up the Laser comp I would be most grateful (I am familar with the great blogpacking light ones)

Weight: Laser Comp wins but I will carry my event Bivi bag if I keep the Laser comp so there is only as saving of 200g.

Looking at that I reckon you've already made your mind up but want som,eone to just say; "Get the Lightwave!" Well, get the Lightwave then! You were really pissed of with the LC last weekend and, as we're getting towards the colder, wetter and windier part of the year, it ain't gonna get any better!

if you want to make the lightwave better on even another of your 8 points, get the xt,like mine. Still comes in at 1.6kg, but soooooo much space. Feels like a luxury flat compared to a bedsit, and still coming in at the weight of an Akto...ish.

Alas the XT is a good bit more expensive so it will have to be the T0 for me.

I would love to keep the comp Diddy but I have a Crux X2 Storm already and herself will shoot me if another Tent comes up on the Credit card statment.

I too have the Laser comp and the Crux X2 bomb .

I would not part with my Laser comp for love nor money,was out this weekend in the laser for two nights up the Lakes,boy its a pleasure to carry in summer it is!

But when the cold winds blow out cometh the Crux and i would not rather be in any other tent than the Crux.

I rest my case ya Honor .

Ok i have 2 more tents but hey who's counting .

A blacks tent for campsites and a Haglofs tents i trashed,oh yeh and i have trashed the Crux(need new poles) ..

the Laser Comp has to go, its just too Fragile and its too small and noisy for me.

I want to love it but I cant, I hate walking up with tent fabric n my face and if the weather gets bad getting a crap nights sleep.

I say I will get the Lightwave Trek T0 as its a 4 season tent and to be honest if I kept the Laser comp I would end up carrying a Bivi bag just in case and the weight differnce would be minimal.

I so love the Storm, I asked crux to do a 1 man version for me and they said the weight differnce would be peanuts so there was no point, also looked at saving a bit of weight with Carbon Fibre poles but they have a tendancy to break at about 90mph where as the alloy ones keeping going to well over the tonne and more

At 2.7kg its not much heavier than a standard 2 man tent.
