Wild camping is very much frowned upon in the peak district, so you'd have to be discrete, I would set up camp late on in the day and break it early in the morning ,keeping away from the main paths and preferably somewhere where your torch light can't be seen from the valleys.

As mike says Wild camping is frowned upon, but most people aren't too bothered as long as you leave no trace you were there. When I went out I ended up removing a few extra piecec of rubbish on the pennine way path. Kinda felt like I was paying my way.

I stayed at Mermaids pool in the Kinder area.

I plan on going back later in 3 weeks time to do it again.

Not sure if this is right. But

    Hi,

Over the years I have wild camped all over the Peak NP with no problems at all. This included several times at the Downfall both on the edge and a little east along the stream (to afford shelter from the wind). You just need to, be sensble, camp discreetly and leave no rubbish.

Rangers are outdoors people themselves. They know it goes on. As above, be discreet, dont have raves or bonfires, and leave no litter. camp away from main tracks too
