    Hi all,

I'm planning to do the walk in April but I'm a little nervous about wild camping in Yorkshire!

These are the spots I'm thinking of if anyone has tried this and can offer advice -

I'll need to wild camp around NZ 885 040 on my first day. I was thinking of staying in 'the hermitage' (the hollowed out boulder). Has anyone stayed thereabouts. It's a wood with lots of farms nearby. This is the one I'm most nervous about!

The second one is Nine Standards at NY 823 064. It's 662m so hopefully no worries there!

I've planned the route to take in camp sites/etc. in Yorkshire besides these - i.e., Lord Stones Cafe, Danby Wiske camp site and Grinton Lodge YHA.

Pop your tent up at dusk take it down in the morning....

    Who will care......

......apart from the forum-scanning sacrificial Pagans rumoured to frequent those particular grid refs.....

Why are you nervous about wild camping in Yorkshire specifically? Bloody cheek! As long as you don't dress as a sheep, you should be ok!

We were moved off the top of Gunnerside Moor above Swaledale by a gamekeeper..... at about 5pm on 30th Dec last. We didn't expect anyone to be out and about to bother us then!

We moved on in the dark by headtorch and got a good pitch in Gunnerside itself instead, but it took the shine off the trip....

(Not sure if C2C goes exactly that way.... probably not?)

Edit to add: That's the only time that's happened to me anywhere in nearly 30 years of wildcamping.
