The jetboil system is modular, you could just buy a jetboil companion cup for about 20-30 and have both!

I did wonder if they were the same, cheers for confirming it for me. i think i'll probably buy the 1 litre cup and have the option of both. I initially bought the bigger one for boil in the bag food, but it takes up quite a bit of space in a day sack, so I have always left it behind.

Consider it sold back to myself! sorry for anyone who was interested and thanks again Jritchie.

Hi Ian if its just for boil in the bag food the smaller version works fine, a bit cramped and you have to flip it upside down, the bag that isif you know what i mean but it would save you the weight and space you want and i have been very happy with mine which i use for the same reason.

    Flip it upside down ?

I just fold it in the middle and stick it in ? Remember with BiB not all the silver packet has to be covered with water.

yeah i'll give it a go i thought it might be a bit cramped with the single version, but i've never tried it. I suppose with the amount of discplacement it wouldn't require much water either.

Cheers for theadvice i'll get one on order.

Anyone whos got a jetboil check which version you have, older styles have been recalled (burner part) due togasleak issues. The article is in this months edition of trail magazine.

Thanks for the heads up on the Jetboil recall - mine's OK (phew) - think I'll post this on the main Gear forum because lots of people here have one, and it will also give the people who don't but sneer at them and an excuse to say somehting negative, which is always good for a laugh.

Jetboil rocks!. Call me a corporate whore (yeah baby!), but I am totally impressed with my jetboil. Yeah its a bit limited (ie coffee and hot water), but what it does do, it does damn well!

    Regards

    Carl

Carl, there are many Jetboil users in the States who have produced gourmet little meals from theirs too! There are even books out there on Jetboil cooking! Just that it hasn't yet caught on over here but for drinks use so much is all!

Jetboil, limited? I'm glad you have put him straight Trevor! Carl if you think your Jetboil rocks when just using it for coffee and hot water, you wait until you have used it for tasty campside cookery. You will be blown away! I think we should get a thread going on Jetboil recipes! There are a few on the Jetboil website to get people started, but try your own and share?
