    Hello,

Has anyone managed to get a Satmap cycle mount for less than £25 delivered ? I have been looking at these but think they are very over priced for what they are.

    Thanks for any advice

    James

Just for reference, I found the fit of the unit into the mounting bracket quite sloppy and ended up putting a fatter o-ring in there to tighten things up. It now fits quite well, though is hard to attach and detach. I haven't crashed off road yet with it fitted. I have a feeling the back may rip off the unit, but I guess I'll find out eventually.

    Thanks Jon,

I have ordered one for £23.50 delivered. It is still well over priced for what it is but I will justify it by getting the unit for only £225 new (well to the mrs anyway). I will have a look at your suggestion when it arrives.

    Cheers

I wouldn't use one, too easy to damage the unit methinks.

Yep, it does look kind of vulnerable sat up there above the handlebars. Then again, it's going to be exposed pretty much anywhere you place it on a mountain bike cockpit, but looking at the way the unit's put together, I suspect the weakest point will be the attachment of the actual battery cover to the main unit and I suspect that's what would break on initial impact.

I'll let you know when it happens

i suppose it will test how rugged the units really are , i wont be using it off road so im not too worried.
